I'm actually looking forward to reading it before I have a thousand manuscripts between it and Ghost Brigades.Lou Andershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00694362734492222851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303103.post-41639907324669816542007-02-25T13:14:00.000-06:002007-02-25T13:14:00.000-06:00Great review to a fantastic book. Good thing,...I've got those two NESFA volumes, too. Good thing, because I'd long ago lost my old Pyramid and Ace editions of his work.

Sounds like a nice limited edition of Foster's novel. Glad to hear Easton's published it. Not to mention featuring Ganesh, one of my favorite Hindu deities. We need more good-natured gods out there (up there?).

Would love to see Foster write a nonfiction book about his global journeyings. Lucius Shepard has one coming out soon about his experiences in Honduras. That should be a good one.

RobertRoberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07418150320095119488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303103.post-1544680298868894082007-02-24T22:15:00.000-06:002007-02-24T22:15:00.000-06:00You keep sending me scurrying to Amazon to see. THough in this case, I have the two NESFA hardcovers.

Meanwhile, Alan Dean Foster just very kindly sent me a copy of the Easton Press edition of Sagrmanda (which we licensed to them). Gorgeous! They took the graphic of Ganesh we used on the interior chapters and put it on the outside in gold.Lou Andershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00694362734492222851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303103.post-10752028989823550612007-02-24T22:09:00.000-06:002007-02-24T22:09:00.000-06:00Lou --Yeah -- go first for IMPERIUM. Think the Baen volume containing all Retief short stories is still in-print...or easily found used.

And I need to retract some of my last week's slamming of Baen Books cover art. On checking their website...there are a lot more "good" covers than I recalled. And big kudos to them for publishing in April Barry Malzberg's "Breakfast in the Ruins" -- an expaned version of his semi-autobiographical "Engines of the Night."

RobertRoberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07418150320095119488noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303103.post-33763201222228240342007-02-24T21:24:00.000-06:002007-02-24T21:24:00.000-06:00Robert, I really need to fill in that whole in my ...Robert, I really need to fill in that whole in my own SFnal education.
Patrick, that is most kind of you.Lou Andershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00694362734492222851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303103.post-25606446521902300282007-02-24T20:43:00.000-06:002007-02-24T20:43:00.000-06:00Lou, email me your ship-to address and I'll be gla...Lou, email me your ship-to address and I'll be glad to send you an ARC of THE LAST COLONY.Patrick Nielsen Haydenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13675127319737095559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11303103.post-43690007571263660432007-02-24T18:41:00.000-06:002007-02-24T18:41:00.000-06:00I'm back on the Keith Laumer hobbyhorse...want to ...I'm back on the Keith Laumer hobbyhorse...want to read The Android's Dream, too.
