G-Men in Two Year's Best, SF & Mystery

Just got the very exciting news from Kristine Kathryn Rusch that her story, "G-Men," which I was privileged to publish in Sideways In Crime, has been selected by Otto Penzler and Jeffrey Deaver to be in The Best American Mystery Stories 2009. So the novella will be in both Gardner Dozois' The Year's Best Science Fiction: 26th Annual Collection *and* The Best American Mysteries. Congratulations, Kris! How cool is that?

Incidentally, Gardner's anthology will also have "An Eligible Boy" by Ian McDonald and "The Gambler" by Paolo Bacigalupi, both from my other anthology of 2008, the (ahem) PKD-nominated Fast Forward 2.

"An Eligible Boy" is an excellent choice! It was my favourite story in FF2, although I admit I read it twice as it was a little confusing in a couple of parts.

BTW - the title of SIDEWAYS IN CRIME is perfect - sideways of course. But I'm not crazy about the division of the cover into thirds.

Anyway, congrats Lou! You know how to pick them!

I wonder if the central image might make for its own nice cover if they do a mmpb...

The central image would make a great cover! I even like the title panel to its left - but I'd make it about 50% narrower.

This is actually my only anthology cover without a Picacio. I was very happy to have an Eggleton!
