And speaking of Stargate...

Unrelated to my previous post, here's Stargate: Atlantis Executive Producer/writer Joseph Mallozzi on Sideways In Crime:

"Editor Lou Anders assembles a little over a dozen contributions on the theme of alternative history and crime in this interesting mix of stories. As is the case with most anthologies, some of the selections resonate more than others. Stand-outs for me were Mary ’s “Sacrifice”, Paul Di Filippo’s “Murder in Geektopia”, and John Counrtenay Grimwood’s “Chicago”. Although I preferred the more wide-open possibilities found in Anders' Fast Forward anthologies(I was struck by how many of the stories in this collection touched on contemporized Aztec culture, Sherlock Holmes, and French-controlled Louisiana), Sideways in Crime proved an entertaining read in its own right."

Lou, congrats on the comments and SG placement. Very exciting. And a thought occurred to me, sparked by the recent media tie-in blogersations...I'm guessing that the current SG media tie-in novels have some kind of contractual bind with Fandemonium Books -- but what about Pyr preparing one anthology of original SG short fiction? And you might have it ready to coincide with the first season of 2009's forthcoming "SG Universe" series. Pyr receives the "gateway" readers, the writers benefit, and the relationship with SG continues to strengthen :-) I'm sure you've already mulled this over and there's fourteen good reasons why it won't happen, but I just thought I'd put it out there!

An interesting idea, but I am sure that would conflict with Fandemonium's license. Also, I get the impression that although he's working on the forthcoming movie(s), Mallozzi's not working with Universe, and he's the guy there who gets my love.

Makes sense.

But I appreciate the suggestion.

You bet ya! :-) (And btw, this may constitute a weird example of reverse media gateway-ing: genre readers and readers of your blog watchng SG just to spot the Pyr references!)

If only those weren't negligible numbers!

Everyone wants to have latest episodes and no one can wait for it to come on DVD as it takes time. So, decide now, what you want to download, a single episode or the complete Stargate SG1 TV Show.
